At the end of Spring Break we visited the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. We had a great time! Both grandmothers and our niece, Grace, went with us. It was a great day!

The Evil Easter Bunny

Since we had such a great experience with the Easter Bunny last year, we decide to visit him again this year. This time we took Reagan's best friend, Ewan. While standing in line, the cuties waved, said "Hi Bunny," and seemed really excited to meet him. Then...it was our turn. Reagan and Ewan realized our intention. We were going to make them sit in the Evil Bunny's lap. Kendall (Ewan's mom) and I tried peeling our babies off of us, but it was all in vain. In fact, Reagan decided to put a death grip on my hair and wrap her legs around my waist, all the while crying "It's ok, it's ok, it's ok." Finally, we gave up and jumped into the picture. All in all, it was a great memory that we will tell them about for years to come. Plus, they are still the cutest kids ever!

Every Cowgirl Needs a Hat

Reagan LOVES horses and enjoys riding stick horses, bouncy horses, or any other horses for that matter any chance she gets. Being the smart girl she is, she knows a cowgirl needs a hat in order to be authentic. For a while, she wore a plastic bowl over her head instead of a cowboy hat. Poor baby! You would think she was deprived or something. One day she spotted my dusty hat in the closet and shouted "COW!" Every day since, she has worn it all around the house.

Spring Break Fun

Yes, I know Spring Break is not over yet, but we have already had a ton of fun. The weather has been beautiful, so Reagan has gotten to play outside more than she ever thought possible. Being outside is what she likes best!

Tom and I bought a shelving unit from IKEA to neatly store all of Reagan's new Christmas toys. With the aide of her new Handy Manny toolkit, she "helped" us put it together.

On Christmas night we went to my parents house to celebrate with them and my grandparents. Reagan got to open more presents. She would open one present and want to play with that gift. I ended up opening her presents for her, while she played with her new toys and books.

Christmas morning we went to Tom's sister's house to celebrate with her family. Reagan had a blast playing with her cousins, climbing the stairs at their house, and redecorating their tree.

Santa Came!

Reagan was good this year, so Santa was good to Reagan! She got her first basketball goal, a bowling set, and a kitchen among many other presents. Her favorite was probably the Handy Mandy tool box, though. She was a little overwhelmed by all the toys in the living room. Santa may have gone a little gift crazy this year.

Our final stop in Southeast Texas was our visit to my mom's side of the family in Sour Lake. Reagan had a blast riding PawPaw's 4-wheeler and tractor. She just might be a country girl! She loves being outside.

Our next stop in Southeast Texas was to see my great-grandmother (Reagan's great-great-grandmother). She gave Reagan a doll, and Reagan got to ride her walker around the house.

Christmas in Buna

Our first stop on our Christmas trip to Southeast Texas to in Buna to visit my dad's side of the family. The whole family was there, and Reagan got to play with all her cousins. We began our celebration with Papa's fried catfish followed by a trip to the Devil's Pocket for church. My uncle is the pastor at Old Laurel Baptist Church (the church has about 50 members). Tom was asked to share with the congregration what Christmas means to him. He did a great job! After church, we opened presents and has a "Chinese Christmas." We had a great time!!

Lookin' at Lights

Tonight we went to Marble Falls with Tom's family for our annual Christmas Light Extravaganza. We ate at the Blue Bonnet Cafe and walked through the Christmas light display down by the lake. Reagan LOVED the lights. She was mesmerized and would occasionally let out a squeal of delight. We had a great time!

Away in a Manger

We have been teaching Reagan about Baby Jesus using the manger scenes we put out at Christmas. She knows the sounds all the animals make and can point to Baby Jesus. She will point and say "baby." I love this picture, because it looks like she is introducing us to Baby Jesus. Cute!

Big Shoes to Fill!

One of Reagan's new favorite things to do is wear our shoes around the house. Usually she just puts one shoe on and shuffles around saying "shoes!" When this picture was taken, my dad put her in both of his shoes. Reagan made a beeline (or shuffled a little faster) to the tile. She really wanted to "click, click" in Grandad's dress shoes on the tile floor. Sadly, she didn't make it. Just before reaching the tile, she face-planted on the carpet. Never fear...she hopped back up unhurt only to be distracted by Dora, the Explorer on TV.

Christmas in Grapevine

The Friday after Thanksgiving, Reagan and I went with my mom and grandmother to Grapevine. This was a our first 4-Generation girls' trip. The first thing we did was go to the Gaylord Hotel to see scenes from How the Grinch Stole Christmas sculpted in ice. Reagan was scared of the Grinch but loved Max. The ice was really cool! (Ha, ha)

We also went to see Santa. Reagan did not like Santa very much. I guess she has a little of her momma in her. We did get our picture, though.

Reagan's favorite part of the trip was the pony rides. She was so happy while riding her horse, Lester. When it was time to go, she was really mad and threw a serious fit, because she wasn't ready to leave Lester behind. Santa needs to bring her a pony for Christmas. It just can't stay at our house!

Last year for Christmas, Tom bought Reagan her own piggy bank. She loves putting change in it. When she goes in her room, she will point to the top shelf (where her piggy bank lives) and say "pi," which means "pig." At the end of this video, she gives her pig a big kiss!

Reagan's favorite game right now is chase. She loves to run around our house while we "chase" her. She loves it even more if we hide and then jump out, yell "boo", and scare her. If she takes off running, she stops to see if you are chasing her. If you aren't, she will grab your shirt or pants and pull you after her. Now that football season is over, Tom gets to play with us. Reagan loves having her Daddy home to chase and scare her over and over.

Since this week was Spring Break, Tom had lots of baseball games. Reagan was able to go two of them. She had a lot of fun and was a really good baby!

In this video, Reagan was laughing at Grace (her cousin) who was dancing for her.

Reagan wowed everyone with her ability to wave at everyone and everything and her ability to clap and say "Yay!"

Reagan went to the doctor on St. Patrick's Day. (Don't worry, no shots this time!) She weights 20 lbs 11 oz, and she is 30 inches long. The doctor said she is doing great and can now eat table food.

Well, it's been about a month since my last update. Reagan is growing so fast. She eats really well and hasn't found a food that she doesn't like. In fact, she is starting level 2 foods. She reaches for anything in sight, and I'm sure when she starts crawling she will get into everything! Reagan wants to crawl so badly, but we are not quite there. She goes from the sitting position, to her knees, to her hands, then belly flops! She can spin in circles on her belly, but she doesn't go anywhere. It really frustrates her, but she will get there soon. Here is a pictures of one of her attempts.

Reagan's Half Birthday

Reagan is now 6-months-old! We took her to the doctor and she had four shots. She did really well and was only mad for a little while. Her doctor said she was perfect, which we already knew. She weighs 17 lbs 15 oz (90%) and 27 inches long (95%). Basically, we have a "tall" baby. Reagan also started eating solid foods. She ate applesauce first, and despite her face after the first bite, she loved it! So far, she likes applesauce, bananas, green beans, and sweet potatoes.

Reagan had Tom and I in tears the other night, because we were laughing so hard. She was playing under her activity gym and rolling back and forth. The next thing we know she rolls on her tummy and her whole bottom half was high in the air. She stayed that way for a long time. It was incredibly funny. We call it the "bucking bronco."

Reagan has her first tooth! My mom discovered it last night while we were riding in the car. Reagan started chewing on her finger, and there it was! I didn't even know she was teething. It's just barely poking out of her gum on the lower left-hand side. I'm trying to get a picture, but she likes to hide it with her tongue. I promise one will come soon.

Even happier news...she now sleeps through the night!! We had a tough weekend of "crying it out," but Mommy and Daddy won this battle. Now, we have a great sleeper and an even happier baby!

Pumpkin Pickin

Today we went to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm to pick some pumpkins. They had hay rides, face painting, pumpkin picking and painting, a petting zoo, and all sorts of other fun stuff. It was really a fun time. Reagan got to spend some quality time with her cousin, Grace, who spent the day looking after her. It was really great spending time as a family!

Reagan went to her first football game on Thursday night to see her daddy coach the 9th grade Westwood High School Warriors. She enjoyed watching the all the people, being outside, and hearing all the fun sounds of a football game.

A BIG Day for our 4-Month-Old!

Today was a BIG day for Reagan. Not only did she turn 4-months-old, she reached several milestones...

#1 - Reagan went to the doctor today and confirmed that she is healthy baby! She weighs 15 lbs and is 25 inches long. She is in the 90% range for weight, height, and head circumference. Yay, Reagan! The worst part was the three shots she got in her little thighs. What a brave little girl she was. After a little screaming, she calmed down and went right to sleep. I think it was harder on me!

#2 - While playing under her activity gym, Reagan rolled over! By the time I got my camera, she has twisted her upper body back over to give me the "Look at me, Mommy!" face.

#3 - After waiting 4 months, we finally fed her rice cereal. She loved it! Hopefully, she will sleep all night tonight. We will see!!!

Oh yeah...we also found our feet. We are very close to actually putting them in our mouth!

We love our sweet baby girl! Our lives have been so exciting and amazing these last 4 months. There are so many things left to look forward to, but we are still savoring the moments. They are going by far too quickly.

Big Weekend for Milestones!

We had a big weekend as far as milestones go.
Milestone #1: On Saturday morning, Reagan had her 3 month portraits taken. To my surprise, she was not a happy camper. There was lots of crying and frowny faces, which is not her typical temperment. Hopefully, the photographer got some good pictures of her.

Milestone #2: On Saturday afternoon, we played a new game - Airplane. Reagan didn't know what to think, but it seemed like she was interested. She enjoys anything that encourages her to hold up her head and look around.

Milestone #3: Then, Saturday night, the most glorious thing happened...she slept for almost 8 hours straight! I woke Tom up at 3:00 am just to let him know that she had been alseep the entire night. It was very exciting!! I hope this is a new nightly routine and not just a one time occurance.

Milestone #4: On Sunday, we went to Nana and Pawpaw's for a visit. While playing the "Eensy Weensy Spider" game, Reagan actually laughed! It was the greatest sound I think I've ever heard! Tom actually heard her laugh for the first time on Friday when he was tickling her. We have a very happy baby girl.

I know there will be many more milestones to come. She is growing so much each and every day. Tom and I are trying to enjoy our time with her and take it all in. Before we know it, Reagan will be a little girl and no longer a baby.

Dedicated to God

This morning Reagan was dedicated to our church and to God. Tom and I were very proud to be standing in front of the congregation with our beautiful baby girl. It was a great feeling to share our daughter with everyone and to commit to raising her in the Christian faith. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful baby, a great support group, and so many people who love our little family.

Hold Your Head High

Reagan is getting so good at holding up her head. She even tries to sit up in her car seat and bouncy chair! One of her favorite things to do is to sit up straight and look around. She will also grab your hands and attempt to pull herself into an upright position. Today we got her a Bumbo seat. She LOVES it!

I can't believe it has already been 2 months and 1 week since Reagan was born. Time really does fly when you are having fun! I have finally gotten this blog up and running. Now all our family and friends can keep track of beautiful baby Reagan and how much she learns and grows each day! God has blessed us with the best baby in the world. Life doesn't get any better than this!!

The school year has officially started and we are back at work. Tom and I are truly lucky to have Grandma and Gran-D taking care of Reagan during the day. We know she is loved and spoiled all day long! We couldn't have asked for a better situation. At least she misses us a little while we are spending time with other people's children.
